In this role, will support student success by ensuring our learning management system, Leo, is running smoothly. You will collaborate with partners across our School of Medicine, including the Office of Medical Education (OME) and Student Affairs and Wellbeing (SAW) to support the curriculum assessment process. 

This is a hybrid position based out of our campus in Nutley, New Jersey. 

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Assessment Information Systems Specialist  at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Work closely with HMH IT, users, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs, and system requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance, coordination, and support related to academic assessment.
  • Responsible for creating assessments in Leo (e.g., tRAT) and posting Phase I to III grades in Leo.
  • Serve as a primary liaison with makers of Leo for technical support.
  • Responsible for providing faculty, staff, and students training on how to use Leo.
  • Collaborate with others in OME to oversee the LMS (Leo) and ensure that the system is operating optimally.
  • Responsible for assigning evaluation forms (e.g., students evaluation of sessions, courses, and faculty, and faculty evaluation of students) in a timely manner in Leo.
  • Collaborate with the Assessment Specialist in developing and maintaining a cumulative grade file.
  • Gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative data and create reports related to outcomes of curriculum and students feedback.
  • Serve on committees and sub-committees at the recommendation of the Director of IEA.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of IEA and Vice Dean of OME.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center¿s Organizational Competencies.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, information management and technology, educational psychology, higher education, or other related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or a master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with a learning management system (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas), or alternatively, a content management system in a non-academic setting.
  • Initiative and motivation for learning systems and solution building.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Google Workspace and Excel.
  • Familiarity with survey design and administration.
  • Ability to work cohesively with multiple stakeholders (e.g., faculty, staff, and students) in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
  • Previous experience in administering and supporting web-based educational programs.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Experience working with assessment software (e.g., ExamSoft) and survey software (e.g., SurveyMonkey and Qualtrics).
  • Knowledge of organizing and implementing data dashboards and reports using a range of methods (e.g., Google Sheets, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI).
  • Experience with health professions education, specifically medical education.
