Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician for an exciting leadership opportunity at JFK University Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. This multifaceted position integrates the roles of Vice Chair of the Family Medicine Department, Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program, and Medical Director of the Family Medicine Center. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with the Department Chair in leading and shaping the future of our academic, clinical, and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will be a visionary, forward thinking leader with a track record of success in graduate medical education who has demonstrated a record of outstanding Family Medicine clinical leadership resulting in high quality patient care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Vice Chair, Family Medicine Department
- Assists the Department Chair with academic, clinical, and administrative functions
- Ensures the quality and efficiency of patient care rendered by the department
- Contributes to performance evaluations, credentialing, and privileging processes
- Assumes the duties and authority of the Department Chair in their temporary absence
Director, Family Medicine Residency Program
- Maintains full compliance with all ACGME Program and Institutional Requirements
- Serves as a teacher, mentor, and practitioner role model for residents and medical students
- Oversees the development, implementation, and review of the residency curriculum, policies, and procedures
- Leads the recruitment, selection, and evaluation processes for residents
- Engages in and promotes scholarly activity, faculty development, and research
Medical Director, Family Medicine Center
- Provides overall medical leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and clinical outcomes
- Maintains compliance with Joint Commission and NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home standards
- Collaborates with the Department Manager to establish medical policies, oversee quality improvement initiatives, and prepare budgets
- Partners in developing and implementing new clinical programs, planning and leading team meetings, and managing physician staffing

REQUIREMENTS:
- M.D./D.O. degree from a recognized Medical or Osteopathic School
- Board-Certified in Family Medicine (ABFM or AOA)
- A minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience at the Director level in both graduate medical education and clinical practice
- Strong leadership, management, communication, and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated success in advancing Graduate Medical Education (GME) with a strong foundation in educational theory and adult learning principles relevant to GME
- Recognized for innovative approaches to curriculum design, faculty development, and educational programming, with experience navigating accreditation standards and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to lead and expand clinical practice initiatives with strong expertise in human resources management, business operations, and performance improvement methodologies, and the
- commitment to foster safe, supportive clinical learning environments
- Must meet requirements for medical licensure in New Jersey (NJ Medical License, CDS, and DEA)
COMPENSATION:
Minimum Base Salary: $285,000

Specialization: Area of specialization and sub-specialization.
Labor Market Data: Compensation is benchmarked against market data to ensure competitiveness.
Experience: Years of relevant experience in the areas of specialization and sub-specialization.
Leadership: Relevant experience as a department chair or chief, practice group leader, or other leadership roles.
Education and Certifications: Degrees attained, residencies, fellowships, board certifications, research, and publications.
Productivity: Levels of productivity, quality and patient satisfaction.
Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in relevant skills and competencies.
Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location.
Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the specialty and/or sub-specialty.
Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
In addition to our compensation for full-time and part-time (20+ hours/week) positions, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
