Overview
The Neuro Critical Care Program Manager works in collaboration with the Neuro critical care staff and service line to plan, formulate, organize, and direct clinical and operational components of the service line. This position will focus on quality initiatives which is necessary to comply with regulatory standards. Collaboration with team members from nursing, our APP's in Neuroscience, physicians (neurologists, neurosurgeons), other clinicians and quality team members. Acute Care advanced practitioners (NP/PA) with 4+ yrs experience in Neurosurgical critical care required. Monday-Friday, no on call requirement.
Responsibilities
1. Regularly monitors relevant key financial indicators and performance metrics, modifying business activities where needed in response to changing financial situations. 2. Track, analyze, and report on relevant data and metrics as needed and/or requested. 3. Critical event and near miss event review and follow-up. 4. Develop, recommend and/or implement actions or process improvements as appropriate. 5. Protocol development, implementation, and compliance monitoring. 6. Daily oversight of Neuro ICU quality/performance measures. 7. Daily participation in multidisciplinary rounds when available. 8. Ability to coordinate care from admission to discharge. One clinical shift per week providing direct patient care, performing invasive procedures, and rounding with the Neuro ICU clinical team. 9. Participation and coordination/planning of unit based, hospital based, and network-level, critical care associated educational programs and committees as needed. 10. Review of current and potential medical equipment used in the Neuro ICU for efficacy, efficiency, and safety. 11. Product investigation, selection, development, and follow-up. 12. Monitor Neuro ICU for acuity and assist the team with patient care when agreed upon by the intensivist. 13. Serve as a liaison between nursing, APPs, physicians, and other ancillary staff. 14. Review and standardize documentation. 15. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. 16. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Current and valid New Jersey nursing or valid physician assistant license is required. 2. Master's Degree in Nursing or as a Physician Assistant required. 3. Acute Care advanced practitioners (NP/PA) with 4+ yrs experience in Neurosurgical critical care. 4. Experience with bedside operative invasive procedures. 5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 6. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 1. Maintains all clinical skills as needed for Acute Care/Critical Care role credentialing. 2. Staff development experience and program development experience preferred. 3. Knowledge of data collection and report generation. This includes presenting data trends and KPI's. 4. Understands program development based on national trends and data procurement. 5. Supervisory experience preferred. Licenses and Certifications Required: 1. Physician Assistant License or NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License. 2. Advanced Practice Nurse Cetification (w/ Master's Degree) or Physician Assistant Certification. 3. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification. 4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification. 5. Emergency Neurological Life Support. 6. National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification. Licenses and Certifications Preferred: 1. Six Sigma Certification 2. ANCC Certification in Stroke or Neurology or equivalent for PA candidates
