Responsibilities

  • The Clinical Nursing Support Education Coordinator (CNSEC) oversees the southern region nursing support personnel education, Patient Care Technician (PCT) and Patient Care Observer (PCO), for all non-licensed nursing personnel that assist in patient care.
  • Oversees the PCT Apprenticeship Program and the PCT Preceptor Program. The CNSEC works with Human Resources and Nursing Leadership to ensure appropriate entry into these programs is maintained and meets the needs for patient care.
  • The CNSEC is responsible for updating the nursing support education to reflect the most up-to-date evidence-based practices.
  • The CNSEC is responsible for evaluating/validating Nursing Support Staff with respect to initial and ongoing competencies, considering all specialty areas of practice.
  • Works with other regions to align and implement network programs for education, training, and continued competence of Nursing Support Staff.

Qualifications

  • BSN required.
  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
  • Minimum of three years nursing experience in acute care setting. 
  • One year of experience as an educator in the acute care setting.
  • Maintains clinical competencies in area of specialty and demonstrates expertise in knowledge of scope of practice of Nursing Support Staff.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Three years experience developing and providing education to Nursing Support Staff preferred.
