The clinical program manager for Behavioral Health, in partnership with the Medical Director, is responsible for the daily operations of these programs and services. The leader models behaviors that promote patient safety and patient/family satisfaction.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Clinical Program Manager for Behavioral Health at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

1. Ensures compliance with all rules and regulations, including NJ DMHAS regulations regarding outpatient mental health service and The Joint Commission regulations for Behavioral Health Services.
2. Interprets, implements and enforces department policies and procedures. Maintains current knowledge of state/government regulatory standards and requirements. Maintains knowledge of standards in guiding all aspects of patient care.
3. Partners with Psychiatry/Behavioral Health Medical Director to ensure quality and safety standards are met at all times and works collaboratively with Behavioral Health leadership
4. Participates in academic training programs as needed
5. Functions responsibly as a clinical manager. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams when appropriate and consistently utilizes appropriate teaching methodology based upon the learning needs of the patients and staff. Develops instruction sheets and checklists pertaining to protocols.
6. Manages and/or assists in the recruitment, development and supervision of team members. Creates and sustains an environment that fosters team member engagement. Establishes clear objectives tied to department and/or organizational strategic goals. Coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports. 
7. Tracks, analyzes, and reports on relevant data and metrics as needed and/or requested. Develops, recommends and/or implements actions or process improvements as appropriate.  
8. Involved in the development and/or management of budget for Outpatient Behavioral Health programs. Regularly monitors relevant key financial indicators and performance metrics, modifying business activities where needed in response to changing financial situations.
9. Promotes patient satisfaction through demonstrated commitment to providing excellent service by interacting in a friendly, helpful manner. Communicates potential patient satisfaction issues to the office of patient experience. 
10. May be asked to represent JSUMC and RMC at County PAC meetings
11. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
12. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. An earned master's degree in  psychology, counseling, social work or other related field from an accredited college or university.
2. Five years of experience in the provision of mental health services.
3. Two years of supervisory experience.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.


Licenses and Certifications Required:

1. LCSW; LPC; PhD; PsyD or highest licensure for degree earned.
