Organizes, directs, supervises, and evaluates all educational needs, and research and development of Hospital Staff. Provides all JCAHO and NJSDOH required educational needs to all hospital-wide employees; participates in the Patient Care Quality Assurance Committee, and acts as a resource person for Patient Care Services and other hospital-wide departments.
Responsibilities
1. Participates in formulating the philosophy and objectives of the education and development program in accordance with the mission and goals of Palisades Medical Center.
2. Conducts educational programs for Patient Care Services and other hospital wide staff as appropriate or as needed.
3. Works closely with the Patient Care Services Division Directors in assessing the educational needs of the Patient Care Division.
4. Provides the leadership in planning, developing, and coordinating the educational programs for the Patient Care Services Division and other Hospital wide departments.
5. Provides the leadership in planning, developing, coordinating, and evaluating the orientation of all new Patient Care Services employees to their individual Patient Care Units.
6. Directs, conducts, participates in and evaluates research studies and uses the findings to improve the educational programs in order to ensure maintenance of quality assurance standards for patient care.
7. Provides direction and leadership in evaluating Patient Care Services' policies/procedures and educational/research programs and their relationship to quality patient care.
8. Acts as a liaison and resource person to department and medical directors.
9. Demonstrates knowledge of budgetary and control by preparing, monitoring, and reviewing budgets periodically to ensure cost containment.
10. Serves as advisor and consultant in the areas of education for all departments.
11. Serves as the administrator for the continuing education provider unit of NJSNA. Plans and coordinates CE programs based on the needs and assessment of staff.
12. Contributes to the development of the philosophy, objectives, standards, policies, procedures, and job descriptions for the Patient Care Services Division.
13. Develops, maintains, and utilizes records, reports, and forms which are pertinent to educational and research programs.
14. Actively participates in the Patient Care Quality Assurance Committee.
15. Actively participates in hospital Committees relevant to education and staff development.
16. Attends educational programs and actively participates in professional meetings to maintain own level of proficiency and keeps abreast of changing needs and requirements for education and management.
17. Promotes efficiency and economy in the use of equipment, materials, and supplies by participating in the selection and preparation of instructional equipment, aids, and materials.
18. Collaborates with the Patient Care Services Directors in evaluating, counseling, and placement of Patient Care Services personnel.
19. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
20. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- BSN.
- Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience with demonstrated competency.
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Management experience.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License and CPR Instructor Certification.
Compensation
Starting at $111,924.80 Annually
HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package.

- Experience: Years of relevant work experience.

- Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location.
- Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
- Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
In addition to our compensation for full-time and part-time (20+ hours/week) job positions, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
