The Data Analyst partners with the Quality Management Department to turn quality data into clear insights that drive decisions. This role builds and maintains the tools, databases, and reports needed to collect and organize quality data. It also goes beyond reporting to analyze trends and spot emerging issues behind quality problems. The ideal candidate is a curious problem-solver who can explain complex findings in plain language. They will recommend practical actions that improve product quality, process performance, and compliance.
This position will be fully on site at Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, NJ
Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Data Analyst at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Develops/builds tools/databases necessary for effective and efficient data collection.
- Creates/builds reports as appropriate.
- Collects data and submit reports as appropriate.
- Maintains QA databases accurately.
- Performs other administrative functions as assigned.
- Ensures delivery of excellent customer service resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for department and Medical Center.
- Ensure confidentiality of QA data and other information.
- Supports, adheres to the Mission, Vision and Values of the hospital.
- Possesses knowledge of the functions of the department to insure efficient workflow of the department.
- Collaborates and communicates with staff within/outside of the department to assure and /or maintain good interpersonal relationship and professionalism in the work environment.
- Maintains current level of competency through required annual competency
- Maintains current level of competency with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards within the framework of position.
- Facilitates workflow of the department for any survey visits.
- Participates in the PI programs appropriate to the position.
- Attends department monthly meetings and other scheduled meetings as appropriate.
- Assists with the development of presentation materials
- Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in order to provide effective patient care.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's Degree of Arts or Science.
- Experience in data management, computer programs necessary for the job; including EMR / EPIC
- Prior experience in healthcare QA data management role required.
- Extensive employee and outside contacts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite

Compensation
Minimum rate of $83,782.40 Annually
HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package.

- Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location.
- Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
- Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
