The Records Coordinator, JTCC is responsible for preparing charts for daily clinic, filing all data in accordance with HUMC policy.

Responsibilities

  • Files all radiology, pathology, surgical reports and other records in patient's chart. 
  • Copies material and releases medical records as requested in accordance with HUMC policy and HIPPA guidelines.
  • Ensures that each patient on the daily schedule has a prepared chart available at the time of appointment.
  • Utilizes all computer system access to locate information.
  • Locates patient charts for staff members.
  • Organizes and maintains all inactive and active therapy charts, and files them appropriately.
  • Coordinates the purging of designated files, arranges their shipment to archives. Retrieves charts when requested.
  • Provides diagnostic information to the insurance companies for reimbursement purposes.
  • Trains assistant in record's room to perform various tasks.
  • Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Medical records experience preferred.
  • Oncology experience preferred.
