The Patient Care Outcome Specialist is responsible for collecting, interpreting, analyzing and maintaining data requirements for nursing and patient care services (focus on data reported for Magnet). The position is also responsible for creating custom reports for the Magnet leadership team at the site and audits data for validity and accuracy. This role serves as a resource for the nursing leadership and team and assists in developing tools, dashboards and graphs as identified by the nursing leadership team.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

  • Responsible for data collection, analysis and report writing for performance improvement activities.
  • Collects, interprets, analyzes and maintains assigned data requirements for nursing excellence (Magnet reporting).
  • Creates custom reports as requested and audits data for validity and accuracy.
  • Serves as a resource for the nursing leadership team in developing performance improvement tools, dashboards and graphs as identified by the nursing leadership team.
  • Collaborates with project investigators and data entry teams to perform baseline, interim and final statistical analysis.
  • Assists in development and maintenance of databases required for nursing excellence, such as e-research and redcap.
  • Assists nurses with special research projects, including information requests and special studies, analyzing proposed studies to determine feasibility.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics or other related fields such as data science, computer science. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data presentation and graph and spreadsheet creation. 
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service focus.
  • Ability to work independently, or in a team, and handle multiple deadline driven tasks in a dynamic environment. 
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, documentation and interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Education on human subject research and GCP.
  • Completion of E-research training.
  • Master's degree in Statistics or other related fields (analytics, implementation science, performance improvement, project management).

Compensation
Minimum rate of $82,513.60 Annually

HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package.

The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer.   • Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location.
  • Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
  • Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
