The Manager of Revenue Cycle Projects & Informatics provides direct leadership and operational management for the teams responsible for driving data-driven change across the revenue cycle. This role oversees the Revenue Cycle Informatics and Project Management functions, ensuring that analytical insights are seamlessly translated into well-executed projects that enhance efficiency, optimize system performance, and protect revenue. As a critical leader within the Revenue Integration team, you will guide your team in leveraging Epic analytics, managing a portfolio of strategic projects, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will serve as the primary operational link between the Director's strategic vision and the day-to-day execution, ensuring that all initiatives are prioritized, resourced, and delivered to meet the organization's financial and operational goals.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Revenue Cycle Projects & Informatics at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and professional development to the Revenue Cycle Informaticists and Project Managers/Analysts.
  • Foster a highly collaborative and integrated team environment where data insights directly inform project planning and execution.
  • Manage team workload, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively to meet departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Establish team performance goals and metrics, monitor progress, and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Oversee the portfolio of all revenue cycle projects, from small optimizations to large-scale implementations, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Implement and manage a project governance framework to standardize project intake, prioritization, and status reporting.
  • Guide the Project Management team in risk mitigation, issue resolution, and effective stakeholder communication to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Report on the overall health, progress, and outcomes of the project portfolio to the Director of Revenue Integration and other senior leaders.
  • Direct the Informatics team to provide robust, actionable analytics that identify root causes of operational issues (e.g., denial trends, revenue leakage, workflow inefficiencies).
  • Champion the use of Epic's analytics tools (SlicerDicer, dashboards, etc.) across the revenue cycle by ensuring the informatics team provides effective training and support to operational leaders.
  • Ensure that analytical findings are not just reported, but are translated into concrete recommendations and business cases for process improvement projects. Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Integration to translate long-term strategy into a tangible roadmap of projects and analytical initiatives.
  • Serve as a key leader on the Revenue Protection Task Force, directing your team to provide the necessary project management and data analysis support.
  • Drive end-to-end process improvement by ensuring projects are structured to deliver measurable gains in productivity, cost reduction, and revenue enhancement.
  • Act as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert for revenue cycle projects and analytics, liaising with leaders in DTS, Finance, and Operations.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle, with a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end processes.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a formal leadership, supervisory, or team lead capacity.
  • Proven experience in both project management and data analysis/informatics within a healthcare environment.
  • Extensive experience with Epic EMR/EHR, with strong functional knowledge of revenue cycle applications (Resolute HB/PB, Prelude, Cadence) and analytics tools (Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects and/or a portfolio of initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team of specialized professionals.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Healthcare Administration (MHA).
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other formal process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and project management software.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Project Management Professional Certification.
  • EPIC Revenue Cycle Readiness or EPIC Cogito.
  • Healthcare Financial Management Association Certification

Compensation
Minimum rate of $131,144.00 Annually

HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package.

The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer. Posted hourly rates may be stated as an annual salary in the offer and posted annual salaries may be stated as an hourly rate in the offer, depending on the level and nature of the job duties and credentials of the candidate. The base compensation determined at the time of the offer may be different than the posted rate of pay based on a number of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to:

  • Labor Market Data: Compensation is benchmarked against market data to ensure competitiveness.
  • Experience: Years of relevant work experience.
  • Education and Certifications: Level of education attained, including specialized certifications, credentials, completed apprenticeship programs or advanced training.
  • Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in relevant skills and competencies.
  • Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location.
  • Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
  • Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
