The Vice President, People Analytics, Technology and Services has overall responsibility and oversight for strategic direction of the HR systems, including planning, budgeting and forecasting, for the entire HR team. Leads a department that is responsible for supporting/providing planning, project coordination, management tools and analytics for the development of a cost-effective HRIS while facilitating efficient operations to meet current and future business needs within the HR organization and Hackensack Meridian Health. Leads the Human Resources analytics function in the areas of HR metrics, reporting and advanced and predictive analytics. Responsibilities also include establishing the strategy to deliver exceptional team member experiences through an HR Service Center.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Vice President, People Analytics, Technology and Services at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
HRIS:
- Overall responsibility for the initiation, planning, approval, execution, and review of all application-related projects within Human Resources. Oversees all HR applications which include HRIS, Leader and Team member self-service, PeopleSoft, iCIMS, SAP performance management and learning systems, among others. Responsible for leading project management and quality assurance of major HR systems projects that are supported by the HR, Payroll, and IT teams including implementation, enhancements, or upgrades.
- Partners with HMH and HR leaders to lead the analysis of all HR business processes to expand the use of HR technology to increase efficiency in current processes and make recommendations for efficient work distribution and workflow. Maintains open communication with all PeopleSoft constituents (HR, Payroll, Finance and Information Technology) to fully define and meet all functional needs within the integrated system.
- Responsible for compliance with joint commission and legal requirements, and all applicable laws and regulations, including application security, application audit, data security, data control, data audit, data extract format validation, and application updates to comply with regulations and policies.
- Facilitate a change in the data integrity culture within HMH including HR data ownership and approval responsibility.
- Oversees strategy for meeting the reporting and interface needs for HMH and all HR applications. Managers HRIS leadership responsible for the approach for standard and ad-hoc reporting as well as interfaces to various HMH systems who need HR data.
- Directs HRIS management in the review and audit of all Human Resources data including system tables, eligibility rules, and calculations for accuracy.
- Develops initiatives to maximize ROI for the PeopleSoft system and to provide improved services and better communication within HMH.
- Responsible for ensuring that team members and leaders have the necessary tools and training to effectively utilize the PeopleSoft self-service features.
- Acts as a role model for all HMH's Organizational Competencies and Standards of Behavior.
Analytics:
- Responsible for leading the strategy and development of HR analytics to measure and support better informed business decisions and objectives as defined by the EVP Chief Experience and Human Resource officer and HMH leadership.
- Partner with HR leadership, BI and other leaders to understand the desired metrics and develop analytics capabilities across the organization.
- Oversees the creation, maintenance and quality assurance of key human resources data sets, analytics and metrics.
- Directs Analytics lead to seek out and maintain external benchmark data and participates in key surveys to ensure relevant metrics to support HR/business decisions.
- Ensures findings are validated and communicated via formal presentations and management reporting.
HR Service Center:
- Responsible for a best in class HR Service Center to support team member inquiries pertaining to self-service, benefits, and other HR policy related matters.
- Directs Shared Services management to ensure all staff is trained and knowledgeable on content areas supported by the HR Service Center to achieve positive employee encounters. Training must be on going to ensure staff members are informed of new policies and practices to achieve positive employee encounters.
- Ensures the collection and analysis of Service Center statistics to enhance employee encounters and maximize team member productivity.
- Responsible for utilizing call center technology with features to improve the team member experience and the retention of data needed for analytics.
- Develops initiatives to maximize HR Call Center ROI including identifying call center partners to improve performance outcomes.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- BS in Business Management, Human Resources, IT or related field or equivalent experience.
- Twenty (20) plus years of experience in HRIS leadership including at least five (5) years as a Director, HRIS.
- At least five (5) years experience in supporting HR Service Centers.
- Must include in-depth experience of the following areas: project management, report analysis, design and development, business process re-engineering, full lifecycle project methodology and analytics.
- Must have departmental leadership experience managing a team of employees.
- Extensive experience with the PeopleSoft HR modules including Absence Management, Benefits Administration and Self Service functionalities.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements mandated by the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, ERISA, EGTRRA, HIPPA, COBRA, FLSA, etc.
- Demonstrated planning, analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of human resources concepts and practices.
- Expertise in the use of databases, data analysis and modeling as management tools.
- Knowledge of HR analytics and metrics.
- Knowledge of shared services methodologies, technology and processes.
- Familiarity with industry best practices within HR applications and tools that are available.
- Ability to multitask in a demanding environment, good organizational and communication skills managing complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Requires ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users, management and non-management customers.
- Excellent communication and people skills necessary to work within a team environment, across departmental disciplines and with varying levels of management throughout HMH.
- Ability to effectively respond to rapid change in business needs and technology.
- Display high degree of judgment, discretion and confidentiality.
