The Technical Coordinator functions in the capacity of reviewing, maintaining, collating and analyzing the day to day activities and regulatory QI requirements for the Imaging departments. This position is responsible for leading the implementation and reconciliation of day-to-day operations and workflow issues of both the Radiologists and technical staff. Additionally, this individual will act as a liaison and supervise any digital initiatives within the department and other departments, striving to maintain a high-level of patient care at.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Technical Coordinator, Imaging at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

1. Oversees and coordinates existing participation in new Technical and or Digital imaging initiatives under the direction from Administrative Director of Diagnostic Imaging.
2. Manages, interviews, orients, and manages all required ancillary clinical medical imaging personnel relative to image management operations including legal and routine reports and image release.
3. Coordinates the day-to-day operation of equipment including image workflow, prior exams, exam manager functions and other related activities stemming from ancillary radiology applications.
4. Daily interaction with the radiologists, and other physicians, providing support in resolving current and recurrent computer problems arising which may impede workflow, both onsite and remote.
5. Works closely with department managers and supervisors to ensure proper operation of image transfer workflow prior to sending to the PACS system as well as network transmission, Epic workflow, RIS validation, and exception handling.
6. Investigates, identifies, and prepares proposals to solve specific operational problems within all clinical operational areas, working closely with department managers, supervisors, and lead technologists as well as involving the next level of administration as appropriate.
7. Works closely with department managers, supervisors, and the Administrative Director to develop policies and procedures governing the use of all imaging systems as well as image workflow and management.
8. Reviews feedback from system users. Compiles and analyzes support data. Recommends procedural and educational changes as appropriate.
9. Works closely with the Administrative Director of Diagnostic Imaging to oversee and coordinate strategic planning for medical imaging initiatives.
10. Works in cooperation with the Administrative Director of Diagnostic Imaging identifying present and future needs for equipment installation.
11. Oversees activities of vendors in all phases of installation and implementation of new systems.
12. Prepares reports for administration on all aspects of medical imaging operations as appropriate or directed.
13. Provide support to the Breast Center and Operating Room.
14. Supports Clinical Trials both Principal Investigator and Industry driven protocols by managing shared drive imaging platform.
15. Interact with vendors with Radiology related equipment by placing and tracking tickets on behalf of the Radiologist, managers, supervisor, and technologist and working closely with DTS to resolve time sensitive issues related to clinical decision making. Identifies hardware or software problems and takes steps to resolve them quickly by troubleshooting in real time to ensure a high level of patient care.
16. Provides training to users to ensure efficient and effective use of imaging equipment and software.
17. Run monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports needed for Radiologists TAT for inpatients, outpatients and ETD.
18. Maintains an open line of communication with all modality supervisors and managers to reduce the number of exams improperly residing in Sent status.
19. Provide on-site support pre, intra, and post downtime and resolve issues related to ensure recovery and uninterrupted operations.
20. Quality control testing with Radiologist partners to ensure stability pre, intra, and post downtimes.
21. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
22. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
2. Minimum of 5 or more years experience with Healthcare related digital technologies.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

 

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Familiar with specific Diagnostic Imaging operations and Technology operations.

 

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

1. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

Compensation
Starting at $90,750.40 Annually

HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package.

  • Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
  • Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
