Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving and Planned Giving, the Manager, Annual Giving and Digital Strategy is a key member of the Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) Foundation's Annual Giving team. This role is responsible for implementing and managing a comprehensive, multi-channel fundraising strategy to grow the base of support for HMH. Working in close collaboration with the Director and Executive Director of Annual Giving, the Manager will oversee the execution of direct mail, digital marketing, and online giving campaigns. The ideal candidate is a data-driven and creative professional who will not only manage donor acquisition and retention efforts but also play an essential role in executing stewardship and recognition programs for our valued annual donors.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Manager, Annual Giving and Digital Strategy at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  •  Implement and manage integrated, multi-channel annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, email marketing, and digital appeals, to acquire, renew, and upgrade donors, in alignment with the strategy set by leadership.
  • Manage logistical aspects of direct mail programs, including content and copy development, design, list segmentation, and coordination with mailhouse vendors.
  • Create and produce compelling email appeals and digital fundraising campaigns for HMH hospitals and network-wide priorities, including but not limited to Behavioral Health, the School of Medicine, and Children's Health.
  • Execute strategies to re-engage lapsed donors and solicit special interest groups through targeted, data-informed outreach.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to align messaging and leverage social media and other digital platforms for fundraising initiatives. Data Analysis, Reporting & Technology:
  • Utilize Raiser's Edge to manage solicitation data, track expenses, and generate queries and reports to monitor progress toward goals.
  • Oversee the preparation of mailing and email lists, ensuring data integrity and proper segmentation for targeted appeals.
  • Analyze campaign results to identify trends, opportunities for growth, and areas for improvement to share with team leadership. Donor Stewardship & Recognition:
  • Implement and manage a comprehensive stewardship plan to thank and recognize annual giving donors in a timely and meaningful way.
  • Execute automated thank-you communications, including acknowledgment letters and impact-focused emails, to foster donor loyalty and retention.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Annual Giving, service-line fundraisers, and other team members to produce reports and communications that demonstrate the impact of donor support. Project & Vendor Management:
  • Manage production schedules and project timelines to ensure all campaigns are executed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external vendors, including printers, mail houses, and digital consultants, to ensure high-quality and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Work cooperatively with internal stakeholders, including the Director of Annual Giving, service-line fundraisers, and foundation leadership, on special projects related to Annual Giving.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college or university required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of fundraising or related marketing experience, with a strong background in direct response fundraising (direct mail and/or digital).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns and analyzing their performance.
  • Proficiency with CRM databases (Raiser's Edge preferred) and email marketing platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collegial team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively with diverse internal and external constituencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive fundraising copy.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.

Compensation
Minimum rate of $82,513.60 Annually

HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package.

The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer. Posted hourly rates may be stated as an annual salary in the offer and posted annual salaries may be stated as an hourly rate in the offer, depending on the level and nature of the job duties and credentials of the candidate. The base compensation determined at the time of the offer may be different than the posted rate of pay based on a number of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to:

  • Labor Market Data: Compensation is benchmarked against market data to ensure competitiveness.
  • Experience: Years of relevant work experience.
  • Education and Certifications: Level of education attained, including specialized certifications, credentials, completed apprenticeship programs or advanced training.
  • Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in relevant skills and competencies.
  • Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location.
  • Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
  • Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
