The Director, Human Resources Information Systems, temporary  oversees and provides direction for systems-related non-benefit projects through the entire lifecycle. The Director, Human Resources Information Systems leads a team that is responsible for supporting the PeopleSoft HRMS System (non-benefit applications) and additional non-benefits related HR systems (e.g. Performance Management, Learning and Applicant Tracking systems). The Dir, HRIS serves as technical leader and strategic adviser for various HRIS technologies, working with HR functional teams to provide creative solutions and long-term technology vision. Additionally, the Director, HRIS will provide leadership in the area of mergers and acquisitions.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Director, Human Resources Information Systems at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Has overall responsibility for the initiation, planning, approval, execution, and review of all application-related non-benefit projects within HR including implementation, enhancements, or upgrades.
  • Leads team responsible for the entire lifecycle of non-benefit projects including initial systems implementation, testing, maintenance, and future phase implementation of additional modules, upgrades and patches.
  • Works closely with HR business areas, as well as Leader and Team Member user groups to expand and improve PeopleSoft throughout the HR Department and HMH.
  • Partners with the leaders of each of the HR areas in helping them use technology to increase efficiency and turnaround time, reduce errors, and make the HR department a best practice operation in the area of HRIS.
  • Assesses organizational needs and current HRIS systems, evaluates potential and existing vendors, and selects and oversees development and implementation of improvements or new systems.
  • Maintains open communication with all PeopleSoft constituents (HR, Payroll, and Finance) to fully define and meet the functional needs across all applications.
  • Ensures compliance with all HMH requirements and all applicable laws and regulations, including application security, application audit, data security, data control, data audit and application updates to comply with regulations.
  • Responsible for all HRIS-related clinical compliance such as HIPAA and Joint Commission.
  • Establishes strategies, policies, practices, and procedures for updating, validating, and correcting employee records or other related HR data.
  • Directs staff in the review and audit of all Human Resource non-benefit data where applicable.
  • Partners with Director, HR Analytics and Director, Benefits Tech & TM Sv Ctr to review and audit of all HR data and system tables to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Responsible for providing training programs necessary for Leader Self Service.
  • Responsible for providing education tools to team members and leaders on applicable subjects such as the PeopleSoft Self Service (non-benefit) features.
  • Contributes to strategic planning, direction, budgeting and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior HR Leadership.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • BS in Business Management, Human Resources, IT or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HR Technology.
  • Extensive technical in-depth experience in the following areas: Project Management, design and development, business process re-engineering, full lifecycle project methodology, supporting acquisitions and mergers.
  • Extensive in-depth HR experience with the concept and principles of HR related processes such as position management, hiring, performance management, termination and other HR related processes.
  • Extensive experience with the PeopleSoft HR modules.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices within HR applications and tools available.
  • Ability to multitask in a demanding environment, good organizational and communication skills managing complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Requires ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users, management and non-management customers.
  • Excellent communication and people skills necessary to work within a team environment, across departmental disciplines and with varying levels of management throughout the HMH.

 

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, IT or related field.
