The Manager, Health and Wellness Center Site I provides administrative and operational leadership for a Health & Wellness Center (HWC), serving as the operational leader responsible for the overall performance of an integrated ambulatory care center. This position is accountable for operational excellence, financial stewardship, workforce leadership, patient experience, physician engagement, regulatory compliance, and the successful execution of organizational and Physician Enterprise strategic initiatives. The Site Manager I directs the daily operations and operational integration of multiple physician practices and ambulatory support services within the site. The incumbent collaborates with physicians, clinical leaders, hospital leadership, and corporate departments to optimize operational performance, improve patient access, enhance provider productivity, achieve financial goals, and support the continued growth of ambulatory services. The Site Manager I serves as the primary operational lead for the Health & Wellness Center and is responsible for creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, service excellence, continuous improvement, and employee engagement while ensuring alignment with Hackensack Meridian Health's mission, values, and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Manager, Health and Wellness Center Site I at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Provides operational leadership for a Health & Wellness Center by directing the daily operations of multiple physician practices and ambulatory support services while ensuring exceptional patient care, operational efficiency, and service excellence.
  • Oversees the operational integration of clinical and ancillary services, including Primary Care, Specialty Care, Imaging, Laboratory, Rehabilitation, Pharmacy, Urgent Care, and other outpatient services, ensuring coordinated, patient-centered care delivery.
  • Leads the execution of site-specific strategic and operational plans that support organizational priorities, improve patient access, enhance physician alignment, expand ambulatory services, and strengthen market presence.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to implement enterprise initiatives, operational improvements, new programs, and organizational change strategies that support the continued growth of the Health & Wellness Center.
  • Assist in the development, administration, and monitoring of the annual operating budget for the Health & Wellness Center while maintaining accountability for financial performance, labor management, productivity, supply expenses, and responsible stewardship of organizational resources.
  • Analyzes financial reports, operational metrics, provider productivity, labor utilization, patient volumes, and budget variances to identify opportunities for improved operational and financial performance and implements corrective action plans to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Partners with leadership and works with finance in the development of annual operating budgets, financial forecasting, capital planning, and resource allocation to support organizational growth and long-term operational sustainability.
  • Establishes collaborative relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical leadership to improve operational performance, provider productivity, patient access, patient satisfaction, and physician engagement while supporting physician recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
  • Provides leadership for multidisciplinary clinical and operational teams by establishing clear performance expectations, promoting accountability, fostering employee engagement, supporting professional development, and creating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Help to establish workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, staffing optimization, performance management, coaching, succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement, and retention initiatives to support organizational performance and workforce excellence.
  • Ensures staffing models, operational workflows, and resource utilization effectively support patient demand, organizational growth, financial performance, and exceptional patient care.
  • Maintains compliance with all federal, state, accreditation, regulatory, and organizational requirements while ensuring continuous operational readiness for inspections, surveys, and accreditation activities.
  • Promotes a culture of patient safety, quality improvement, High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles, and service excellence through continuous monitoring of quality indicators, patient experience metrics, operational performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Leads performance improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, High Reliability Organization (HRO), and evidence-based management principles to improve operational efficiency, patient flow, provider productivity, and organizational performance.
  • Utilizes operational, financial, quality, and patient experience data to establish priorities, evaluate performance, support strategic decision-making, and drive continuous operational improvement.
  • Represents the Health & Wellness Center within the community by developing collaborative relationships with physicians, employers, community organizations, and strategic partners while supporting business development, referral growth, community outreach, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Serves as the primary operational liaison between the Health & Wellness Center, Physician Enterprise leadership, hospital leadership, and corporate departments to facilitate communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and successful implementation of organizational priorities.
  • Maintains current knowledge of healthcare operations, ambulatory care trends, regulatory requirements, reimbursement methodologies, and leadership best practices while promoting innovation, professional development, and continuous organizational improvement.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible healthcare leadership experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible healthcare leadership experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in multi-specialty ambulatory operations, physician practice management, integrated outpatient services, or a comparable healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, managing, and monitoring operating budgets and achieving financial performance objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams, workforce planning, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with physicians and clinical leadership to improve operational performance, patient access, quality, and provider productivity.
  • Experience implementing operational improvement initiatives utilizing performance metrics and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Experience leading operations within an integrated ambulatory care center or multi-service outpatient campus.
  • Experience with annual budget development, financial forecasting, capital planning, productivity management, and operational analytics.
  • Experience leading organizational change, process improvement, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Certification such as FACHE, CMPE, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent healthcare leadership credential.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record and healthcare analytics platforms.

Compensation
Minimum rate of $107,952.00 Annually

HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package.

The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer.   • Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
  • Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
