The Food & Nutrition Department Coordinator is a member of the healthcare team who takes direction from and is supervised by the Director, Managers, Executive Chef or designee. Performs the clerical, reception/communication and coordination tasks for the department in accordance with the established policies and procedures. This position functions in a multi-skilled environment, which requires the application of customer service and clerical skills with team member related activities.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Food and Nutrition Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Performs team member onboarding and maintenance of team member files (department orientation, ID badge, Kaba clock registration, access requests for email, direct deposit).
  • Team member Liaison for HMH policies, procedures, eLearnings, surveys, in-service completion. 
  • Timekeeping in the payroll system for department as assigned.
  • Communicates invoice correction, repair or maintenance work orders with vendors, EVS, maintenance.
  • Electronically inputs Invoices, Department Requisitions, Retail sales summaries (eFinance data entry).
  • Executes physician billing for credited meals.
  • Operates and maintains all office equipment and supplies.
  • Assists with display of corporate-provided marketing materials in retail area.
  • Assists with Micros Symphony Oracle POS system page design for electronic cash registers, kiosks. 
  • Manages eCatering requests, assists with set up and delivery of functions.
  • Assists in retail services as needed.
  • Interacts with team members, retail customers.
  • Coordinates with EVS requests for cafe cleanliness.
  • Answers, places and transfers telephone calls.
  • Records and relays messages.
  • Completes incident reported via OneLink as requested.
  • Maintains communication within the FAN department and between the FAN department and other hospital departments.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH¿s Organizational and Managerial competencies and standards of behavior

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must meet and maintain the expectation of competency in his or her practice dependent upon the specific work environment.
  • Demonstration of age appropriate implementation of care delivered to patients/team members as specified by the department's scope of services.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Computer skills (Google applications, G Mail, Micros POS, eFinance ) are preferred, but not a requirement as training provided as part of the orientation process.

Compensation
Starting at $20.32 Hourly

HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package.

  • Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
  • Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
