Responsibilities

A day in the life of a QA Nurse Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

1. Responsible for the maintenance of Quality Assurance documents for FDA, FACT, NMDP, etc
2. Monitoring of Staff regulatory compliance related to annual validations.
3. Develops and provides assessment tools for monitoring staff education compliance.
4. Meets with the program medical director and the Collection Center Director and Nurse Managers to design and implement Standard Operating Procedures.
5. Works on special projects for Blood & Marrow Transplant Department including quality assurance, regulatory affairs and education series.
6. Acts as a resource for the staff.
7. Submits regulatory and educational reports as requested. 
8. Coordinates/facilitates quarterly quality management meetings, including agenda, audits, validation studies and collection reports.
9. Performs audit to monitor compliance with regulatory standards as outlined by agencies such as FACT, JCAHO.

Qualifications

NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License required

AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification required

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in BMT transplant, apheresis and photopheresis required

Oncology Certified Nurse preferred
FACT certified training preferred
Apheresis Training Certificate preferred
Photopheresis Training Certificate preferred
