The Project Coordinator, Nurse Education & Academic Affairs (Project Coordinator) reports to the VP, Nursing Research, Grants & Acad Affairs ('VP') and will manage multiple short and long term projects simultaneously and assist with getting all projects completed in an efficient manner. The Project Coord will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring and helping to ensure the successful execution of special projects undertaken by Nursing in relation to research, grants, academic affairs and nursing education. The Project Coord will also be accountable for specific functional work products of the department.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Project Coordinator, Nurse Education & Academic Affairs (Project Coordinator) at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Coordinates large and small scale projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses, and manages risks to the success of the project. Prepares presentations and reports showing project status and results.
  • Researches and creates presentations to support strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations, preparing and completing action plans and monitors and communicates follow through with assigned executives/leaders.
  • Develops, maintains and monitors a detailed project schedule for projects undertaken by the network department.
  • Assists the VP and program managers and coordinators on a broad range of internal and external activities and special projects including but not limited to network integration and all administrative matters. Gathers, synthesizes and consolidates materials for distribution to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for routine and recurring operational reports.
  • Responsible for producing monthly Nursing reports for executive leadership and any ad hoc reports as requested by the VP.
  • Prepares analysis for and participates in some executive leadership and operations meetings.
  • Provides and prepares monthly key analysis for network nursing.
  • Assists in the monthly financial close process, researching revenue and expense variances and reconciling reclass of outstanding invoices.
  • Measures and continually improves processes, procedures, programs, and services that enhance the ability to manage workflow within the department.
  • Attends, as appropriate, department meetings and participates accordingly.
  • Conducts administrative support to VP and department to maintain department operations, such as scheduling appointments and meetings, travel, screening/triaging calls, maintaining inventory, preparing correspondence, training etc.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in an administrative, project management or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 year's working for senior leader(s).
  • Forward thinking and works independently with little to no supervision.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of business acumen, sound judgment and discretion in decision making, problem solving and project management in a fast paced, high performance environment.
  • Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications and Google platform.
  • Experience working in a complex and matrix environment, working with senior leadership.
