The Neurodiagnostic Epilepsy Program Coordinator coordinates care for all Epilepsy patients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing ongoing assessment of patient needs including educational, psychosocial, and clinical; connecting patients and families to available resources within the health system and in the community, assessing patients for eligibility for services, and facilitating access to care. Coordinates clinical care to ensure appropriate patient assessment and treatment.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Neuro Epilepsy Program Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
1. Facilitates the interdisciplinary approach to achieve positive patient outcomes and is a patient advocate for epilepsy patients. Collaborates with physicians and staff (including but not limited to) Neurosurgery, neurology, radiology, and nursing to develop and implement a seamless progression of care to meet the patient's needs.
2. Builds and maintains referral relationships with medical staff: establishes communication with physicians and their offices regarding the availability of the program. Meets with doctors and their office staff to outline programs and available resources. Establishes mechanisms for new patient referrals from various sources including hospital departments, the physician or their office.
3. Coordinates disease specific education on prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment through the planning, implementation and evaluation of educational programs: education services continually meet the needs of the community. Provides appropriate curriculum for disease site educational programs.
4. Coordinates inpatient and outpatient care for patients: provides initial detailed patient/family needs assessment and periodic updates throughout the course of care. Provides Neurodiagnostic specific expertise. Provides patient and family education. Connects patients/families with available resources in the health system and community. Facilitates access to services. Tracks and documents the flow of patients through diagnostic and treatment services.
5. Provides culturally appropriate health promotion and disease/injury prevention strategies based on age, learning theory, epidemiological principles, developmental levels, learning needs, readiness, and ability to learn.
6. Develops and participates in Performance Improvement activities and development of guidelines in collaboration with Medical Directors and physician leaders.
7. Coordinates clinical care, in collaboration with the providers and other team members on the care team.
8. Identifies educational needs of patients/families/staff and collaborates with other multidisciplinary team members to develop programs and teaching materials.
9. Maintain monthly log of active patients to ensure accuracy of growth of the division.
10. The delivery of patient care is well within the acceptable standard: utilizes the principles of performance improvement to organize, implement, direct and evaluate the delivery of services.
11. Collaborates with Epileptologist and Neurosurgeon for grid placement for epilepsy surgical evaluations.
12. Works in a professional and collaborative manner with all team members and physicians in the delivery of patient care and monitoring.
13. Displays a commitment of the value of teamwork by building strong relationships with patients, families, and team members. Cooperates and collaborates to perform duties promoting a unified and spirited workplace.
14. Enhances professional growth and development through annual participation in educational programs, in-services, workshops, reading current publications on Neurophysiology testing/technology and Neurological disease, online CME through various professional organizations and manufacturers, and viewing recorded educational programs.
15. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
16. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Minimum of 5 years experience in Epilepsy/Neurodiagnostics.
2. Certificate from Neurodiagnostic Program or equivalent.
3. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
1. Neuroscience or epilepsy disease specific program coordination experience.
2. Neurodiagnostic related education.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
2. American Board of Registration for Encephalographic Technologists Certification - R.EEG.
3. Certificate in EEG or Neurodiagnostic Technology or equivalent.

Compensation
Minimum rate of $32.92 Hourly
HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package.
The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer. Posted hourly rates may be stated as an annual salary in the offer and posted annual salaries may be stated as an hourly rate in the offer, depending on the level and nature of the job duties and credentials of the candidate. - Experience: Years of relevant work experience.

- Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location.
- Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
- Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
