Under the supervision of the Information Technology (IT) Operations Manager, the IT Operations Analyst II supports services, working closely with other IT divisions, to proactively maintain and administer data center applications, environmentals and hardware for Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). Responsible for day-to-day technical support, developing strategies for improving technologies, processes and performance. Also responsible for researching and providing recommendations to improve processes and technologies. In addition, mentors IT Operations Analyst I through educating and encouraging skill development.
This is an onsite position in Neptune, NJ and the shift is 3:00pm-11:30pm.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of an Information Technology (IT) Operations Analyst II at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Performs data center operations system monitoring, including application, environmental and network systems that process in a 24x7x365 environment.
- Supports data center infrastructure by installing, maintaining and repairing hardware in order to accommodate.
- Monitors assigned data center hardware and software. Responds to automated alerts and emails by following the department's standard operating procedures. Responsible for troubleshooting and triaging problems with monitoring software, working closely with other IT divisions until resolution. Escalates unresolved issues to the next level of support. Researches and recommends software and hardware for monitoring data center applications and hardware.
- Develops documentation for all facets of IT Systems & Network Operations functions and ensures team members understand how to perform procedures. Develops training guides and conducts technology huddles as new applications and hardware are implemented into the data centers.
- Bring ideas and recommendations for improvements to operations procedures, processes, and monitoring of the data center assets. Participate in special projects such as Disaster Recovery tests and testing of new systems.
- Performs daily health checks and period inspections of data centers to proactively certify the state of systems and services.
- Responsible for floor space allocations and related rack and rack peripheral infrastructure build out to accommodate hardware installations and moves.
- Troubleshoots and triages technology issues, working closely with other IT divisions, vendors and 3rd party support until resolved. Communicates to supervisors any discrepancies and contacts appropriate staff for guidance to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Provides Level 2 support, following operating procedures to resolve requests in a timely manner, and escalating as needed by creating service requests in ticketing software and assigns to proper personnel. Documents new procedures and updates existing guides and manuals. Trains personnel on new procedures and technologies.
- Works with limited supervision to monitor security-relevant logs and alerts for signs of compromise, attack, or system misuse and policy violations.
- Teams with third party MSSP to perform Tier-2 triage and collect related data from various network and system analysis systems.
- Ensures all alerts are monitored, interpreted, analyzed, and investigated.
- Analyzes network flow data for anomalies and correlates reporting with enterprise-wide network activity.
- Plans and coordinates with various cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure present and future capacity/scalability
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's degree in management information systems, information technology, computer science, related degree and/or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant Information Technology experience including experience in network operations, data center management, and/or security operations.
- Strong knowledge of troubleshooting best practices and standards.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of change, problem and incident management.
- Excellent technical, analytical, and project management skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Experience working in a highly available 24x7x365 environment.
- Knowledge of data center infrastructure: power, cooling & facilities management.
- In-depth knowledge on data center operations, processes and continuous processes improvement.
- Experience within SOC/NOC teams.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience conducting analysis of log data in support of intrusion analysis or information security operations.
- Experience in data center safety and security measures.
- Knowledge of data center server capacity planning.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundations v3.
- Comptia A+ certification.
- Comptia Network+ Certification.
- Comptia Security+ Certification.

Compensation
Starting at $82,513.60 Annually
HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package.
The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer. Posted hourly rates may be stated as an annual salary in the offer and posted annual salaries may be stated as an hourly rate in the offer, depending on the level and nature of the job duties and credentials of the candidate. - Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
- Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
