Overview

The On Call APN performs rounding on Carrier Clinic units during weekend coverage. They provide psychiatric and medical care to patients and residents of Carrier Clinic. (Carrier Clinic is referred herein as the 'Facility'). Conforms to performance improvement standards of patient care as established through Carrier Policies and Procedures. Provides professional representation of Carrier to other health professionals, community agencies, and the lay public. Psychiatry experience prescribing meds for at least 1 year required.

shift a month minimum requirement

Responsibilities

1. Provide psychiatric and medical treatment to inpatients on the unit to which they are assigned. 2. Follows all EMTALA regulations and the Facility requirements concerning EMTALA. 3. Completion of a daily progress note including mental health status and diagnosis. 4. Completion of medication orders, status, laboratory tests, diets, etc. as needed. 5. Completes all documentation/orders as required with timeliness and quality including delinquencies and incident reporting. 6. Documentation of unusual incidents. 7. Progress note documentation for patients requiring special monitoring, e.g., suicide precautions, seclusion or restraints. 8. Reviews laboratory results and documents timely. 9. Consultation/liaison with Nursing Supervisor, as needed. 10. Responds to nursing requests as needed. 11. Assures that Medical Clearances are completed in a timely and efficient manner when covering Access shifts. 12. Responds to Utilization Management documentation requests efficiently and timely. 13. Adherence to performance improvement protocols including clinical pathways. 14. Returning all patient and family phone calls as needed on a timely basis. 15. Required to respond to calls/pages. 16. Adheres to timekeeping and payroll policies. 17. Reliable and on time to all scheduled rounding coverage. 18. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. 19. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Graduate of an approved APN Program. 2. Interacts well with patients, visitors and Facility staff, responding promptly to inquiries with tact and sensitivity. 3. Demonstrates a courteous, cooperative, pleasant and positive attitude. 4. Maintains strict standards of confidentiality. 5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 6. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms
Licenses and Certifications Required: 1. Advance Practice Nurse License. 2. Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification or Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification. 3. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification or completed in the first 90 days of employment. 4. Active, unrestricted Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) license. 5. Active, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license. 

Compensation
Starting at $99.66 Hourly

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
