The Financial Operations Analyst, Behavioral Health position is responsible for compiling and analyzing information related to specific departmental functions within Hackensack Meridian Health's Carrier Clinic, which focuses on behavioral health. Job responsibilities include all operational matters affecting the preparation and reporting of monthly financial statements, budgeting, audit coordination and special analytical projects. PeopleSoft general ledger accounting platform is utilized for financial reporting.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Financial Operations Analyst, Behavioral Health at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Applies GAAP in fulfilling core responsibilities of all assigned duties and special projects.
  • Timely preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly analysis and reconciliations for department reporting requirements.
  • Support the monthly financial close process by preparing monthly journal entries, balance sheet and income statement analysis, month-end financial and statistical reports.
  • Explain monthly and year-to-year variances and fluctuations (Budget VS Actual Analysis) using statistical, financial, and operational data. 
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting for capital and operating expenses.
  • Provide financial analysis support services to other functional areas within HMH Carrier Behavioral Health.
  • Other duties and / or projects assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge and application of GAAP.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Must be highly computer literate, including advance use of Excel. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or pursuing.
