Supervises the daily operation of areas of responsibility within Access Services. Oversees, coordinates and communicates Access Services responsibilities to team members. Plans, organizes and implements departmental activities to enhance the service to our customers.

Responsibilities

Work Flow: Proactively seeks opportunities to enhance job growth as demonstrated by a flexible work style with ability to handle a high degree of pressure, heavy workloads, multiple requests and numerous interruptions in a positive manner. Able to establish priorities for effective work completion and adapt quickly to changing conditions, assimilating new processes into job functions and taking ownership. Works in collaboration with our customers and demonstrates good judgment, critical thinking and fosters service recovery by properly identifying, resolving, and reporting customer issues.

 

Operational Support: Manage and implement a strategy to improve departmental outcomes. Knowledge of authorizations, medical necessities, NOA, COB, NJ Charity Care Regulations and Certified Application Counselor requirements . Manages a system of reports to guarantee timely submission to state of New Jersey as well as strict compliance with NJ Charity Care regulations. Provides education to case management, physician and physician office staff related to reimbursement and service issues.

 

QA Analysis: Ensures quality performance through audits, registration training analysis, DNFB and tracking LOS, denials management, authorizations, medical necessity, NOA and referral requirements, internal and external referrals for financial assistance.

 

Financial Management: Regularly monitors relevant key financial indicators and performance metrics, modifying business activities where needed in response to changing financial situations.

 

People Management: Manages and/or assists in the recruitment, development and supervision of team members. Creates and sustains an environment that fosters team member engagement. Establishes clear objectives tied to department and/or organizational strategic goals. Coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Financial Management: Involved in the development and/or management of budget for assigned areas. Regularly monitors relevant key financial indicators and performance metrics, modifying business activities where needed in response to changing financial situations.

 

Data Management and Analytics: Track, analyze, and report on relevant data and metrics as needed and/or requested. Develop, recommend and/or implement actions or process improvements as appropriate.

 

Other Duties as Assigned: Complete all other assigned duties and projects in a timely fashion

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree Preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years of experience in Access Service or related healthcare experience required.
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Customer service skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skill required.
