The Director of Property Operations is responsible for overseeing and supervising housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance staff to ensure all services are provided as per facility policy and procedures and state/federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Director of Property Operations at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Ensures housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance staff complete assigned duties.
  • Acts as Facility Safety Officer, coordinates monthly Safety Committee meetings, and creates and implements new programs to foster a safe environment for all facility residents.
  • Implements and directs Preventative Maintenance Program and ensures all equipment is in good repair and maintained.
  • Ensures all required documentation is present as per state/federal guidelines.
  • Ensures all stock supplies and equipment are available to provide necessary services.
  • Maintains current required vendor contracts and is responsible for making sure all documentation is current and timely for required inspections.
  • Conducts in-services to ensure staff are knowledgeable of fire and disaster plans.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure quality service is provided.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Previous experience in Healthcare/LC environment doing maintenance work.
  • Experience in light plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, plastering.
  • Must be able to work at heights, including ladder and roof.
  • Must be able to operate and use all equipment and supplies in a safe and efficient manner consistent with their intended purpose so that equipment, facility property, and/or individuals are not damaged or injured.
  • Must use good judgment in the performance or assigned duties and report any conditions that affect workload and/or assigned duties to supervisor.
  • Safety oriented.
  • Understanding of Federal, State, and local regulations and compliance.
  • Must be able to work alternating weekends.

 

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Computer skills
  • Prior work experience with geriatric and disabled facilities.
