The Assesment Specialist reports to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment (IEA), the position serves as the psychometrician and operational manager of assessment systems. The position works closely with other IEA team members to fulfill the unit's mission and goals. The position also works in close collaborations with other units of the Office of Medical Education (OME; Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III) and Students Affairs Wellbeing (SAW) team to support the curriculum assessment processes and ultimately student success.

This is a hybrid position with three days a week onsite at the Nutley, NJ campus.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Master's degree in Educational Psychology, Educational Research, or related fields from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience in test development and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of standard setting methods.
  • Experience working with assessment software (e.g., ExamSoft), survey software (e.g., SurveyMonkey and Qualtrics) and Learning Management System, preferably Leo.
  • Ability to gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative data and create reports related to outcomes of curriculum and students' feedback.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Google Workspace, Excel, and SPSS, and measurement software, such as Winsteps and jMetrik.
  • Extensive knowledge of organizing and implementing data dashboards and reports using a range of methods (e.g., Google Sheets, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI).
  • Familiarity with survey design and administration in a higher education environment. 
  • Ability to work cohesively with multiple stakeholders (e.g., faculty, staff, and students) in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Experience with health professions education, specifically medical education, strongly preferred.
  • Doctoral degrees in relevant fields are strongly preferred.
