The Heavy Cleaner maintains the facility in a sanitary, attractive and orderly condition.

Responsibilities

  • Clean on a daily basis, patient rooms, communicating in a courteous and friendly manner with patients while
    performing duties as follows:
  • High and low dusting of all vertical surfaces
  • Damp wiping of furniture
  • Restroom servicing
  • Remove refuse (Regulated and Medical Waste)
  • Dry and wet mopping of floors or vacuum
  • Spot cleans walls if visibly soiled
  • Inspection/evaluation of work
  • Performs discharge cleaning as per Housekeeping policy and procedure manual.
  • Performs daily cleaning procedures in support areas e.g. corridors, utility rooms, pantries, nurses stations, treatment areas according to patient room procedure noted above.
  • Gather on a daily basis, necessary supplies and equipment to perform job functions assigned and maintain equipment in an acceptable manner.
  • Perform floor burnishing of floors
  • Perform wall washing
  • Perform moving of heavy & light equipment
  • Perform cubicle curtain changing
  • Perform window cleaning
  • Perform carpet bonnet or extraction shampooing
  • Perform upholstery cleaning techniques
  • Strip and refinish floors
  • Perform cycle cleaning of surgical suites as per Housekeeping policy and procedure manual
  • Ensures delivery of excellent customer service resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for the department and Medical Center.
  • Constantly stooping, bending, stretching, lifting, pulling, pushing and turning.
  • Frequently lifts objects from 10 to 100 pounds.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
