Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical care under the supervision of the physician(s) and practice manager for the patients of the practice. Serves as a liaison between the patients and provider.  Performs Medical Receptionist and other clerical duties as requested.  CMA will float between other occupational health sites if needed.  

Responsibilities

A day in the life of an Occupational Health Certified Medical Assistant at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

  • Clinically multiskilled Medical Assistant.
  • Performs phlebotomy, spirometry, audiology, EKG, vision screening.
  • Responsible for exam room preparation, supply inventory management and documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Performs department secretary and other clerical duties as requested.
  • Potential to travel to various external sites to perform occupational health screenings.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited school of Medical Assisting.
  • 1 year experience in a medical office preferred
  • MUST have strong phlebotomy skills
  • Excellent computer and communication skills
  • National Certified Medical Assistant certificate required
  • CPR certification
