Duration of Internship: Summer 2020 (10 weeks)

Location: Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ

Responsibilities

Main Project: Leading interventions to address health care and social determinants of health needs affecting communities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Face to face screening interviews at bedside
  • Collaboration with clinical team to develop individualized plan of care
  • Implement strategies to address gaps identified
  • Measure success achieved and evaluate process

Qualifications

  • College student majoring in Public Health, Health Administration, or Health & Community-related fields
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, email and internet
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must
  • Problem solving, time and task management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Must be a team player, willing and able to work with a variety of colleagues and donors
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate large-scale projects and think creatively
  • Desire to make an impact for underserved populations with complex health care needs and social determinants of health

  • Spanish speaking preferred

This is a non-paid internship. This position is for education and training and you will not be entitled to wages.  You will work under close supervision of existing staff and will be provided with learning opportunities throughout the internship.  This internship does not entitle you to a job at its conclusion.
