Responsible for supervision of Transfer Center operations and staff. Organizes and supervises all operational components to ensure the successful delivery of Transfer Center services.


1. Responsible for direct supervision of all operational aspects and staff of the Transfer Center. 2. Supervises the coordination of a wide variety of administrative, operational and technical activities to ensure efficient Transfer Center services. 3. Implements policy and process improvement plans for the department. Monitors regularly and makes adjustments, as appropriate, to achieve desired outcomes. 4. Ensures HackensackUMC Policies are applied for consistent standards of behavior. 5. Monitors spending and adjust plans to meet budget targets at year end. 6. Communicates regularly with peers, superiors and subordinates on issues regarding Transfer Center activities, department, human resources and new procedures. 7. Evaluates employee performance and conducts intervention, corrective action and commendations as situations warrant. 8. Keeps current with regulatory changes and challenges, taking necessary steps to ensure compliance. 9. Represents HackensackUMC Transfer Center on appropriate committees, task forces, professional organizations in a manner which reflects positive, progressive and collaborative growth. 10. Responsible for maintaining department licenses and certifications. 11. Ensures implementation of new computer applications and upgrades as needed. 12. Assists and conducts potential employee interviews and recommends candidates for open positions to maintain optimum staffing levels and operational needs. Creates and monitors education and orientation of new team members. 13. Assumes 24 hour responsibility for all matters as they relate to departmental business and functions. 14. Implements updates to department policy and procedures as needed. 15. Performs clinical coordinator responsibilities during emergent staffing needs. 16. Evaluates utilization and pre-certification needs for non-emergent acute care transfers. 17. Monitors and assesses the use of hospital services by administering utilization review procedures under Federal, State and hospital guidelines.


Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Graduate of a NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing. 2. Bachelor's degree in nursing; 3. Understanding of Hospital operations. 4. Positive and proactive approach to work assignments. Strong prioritization skills required 5. Strong verbal and written communication skills 6. Staff development and team motivation skills 7. Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new applications. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Health Care Nursing Management, ED or ICU patient care setting with two years of supervisory experience preferred. Licenses and Certifications Required: 1. NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License. 2. Valid Driver's License from a USA state. 3. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
