Director, CCSG Grant Administration

Plans and directs programmatic activities and initiatives (internal and external) undertaken by Lombardi Cancer Center (LCCC) North/HMH. Ensures compliance with all Federal National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) administration guidelines and standards, as well as guidelines associated with other large programmatic research projects. In addition, ensures compliance with all funding agency guidelines, procedural standards, and reporting requirements. Manages all fiscal, human resources, and general administrative activities within the scope of the NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC)/LCCC North/HMH. Provides advanced professional/technical leadership, consultation, and expertise of NCI CCSG Grant focus, as well as day-to-day administrative and functional management of the program's activities
A day in the life of Director, CCSG Grant Administration at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Coordinates CCSG objectives to effectively accomplish the consortiums goals and objectives; coordinates recruitment of Consortium members.
- Coordinates with clinical trials office to ensure accurate and timely Clinical Trial Research Program (CTRP) reporting and data table 4 for non-interventional trials.
- Coordinates with HMH Grants administration of Data Table 2 NCI progress reports and grant application, ensuring compliance with all funding agency guidelines, procedural standards, and reporting requirements.
- Keeps track of and monitors shared resource usage by NJ investigators and usage of shared resource equipment in NJ by DC investigators.
- Assists with coordination of invoice processing between HMH and LCCC.
- Coordinates bi-weekly CaRe calls between consortium partners.
- Creates and implements research tracking and reporting strategies and systems for major grant-funded projects; provides integrated informatics support across all research and clinical trials components of LCCC North/HMH.
- Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
- Develops and manages annual CCSG consortium budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses.
- Oversees and coordinates the preparation of comprehensive research activity and operational reports for senior LCCC North/HMH leadership; provides expert guidance regarding CCSG Metrix.
- Provides comprehensive advice, consultation, and facilitation to LCCC South/HMH-based researchers on all aspects of CCSG grant preparation and submission, and preparation and submission of RFIs and RFPs.
- Works with other LCCC/HMH leaders to develop annual and competitive NCI P30 CCSG grant applications and reports.
- Oversees center-wide strategic planning and the conduct of strategic meetings, retreats, and External Scientific Advisory Board meetings.
- Coordinates attendance of consortium disease group meetings and Protocol Review and Management Committee (PRMC) meetings.
- Works directly with the Cancer Center Director at HMH, SVP, CDI, and other senior leaders to develop and oversee internal and external collaborative initiatives.
- Coordinates participation/travel for NJ-based cancer center leadership in yearly external advisory committee meetings and site visits (including rehearsals).
- Assists with faculty appointments and memberships to the Cancer Center.
- Assists with the development of member biosketches as needed.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Master's degree.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information effectively to groups.
- Skills in budget preparation and fiscal management.
- Ability to develop and implement complex data tracking and reporting instruments, systems, and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and University regulations, guidelines, and policies covering contracting and granting process for public institutions.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of the P-30 CCSG grant and its various guidelines, requirements, and standards.
- Knowledge of the principles, procedures, and ethical considerations surrounding the conduct of biomedical and/or human research.
- Ability to supervise and train employees by organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
- Knowledge and understanding of sound principles, methods, systems, and processes for controlled clinical trials involving human subjects.
