Overview

The Analytics Scientist/Consultant will assist the Director of Clinical analytics in the analysis of large complex healthcare data sets to discover hidden patterns, trends, and associations in support of clinical quality improvement, operational improvement, and other clinical objectives. The Analytics Scientist/Consultant will partner and consult with internal and external departmental stakeholders to identify opportunities to apply analytic solutions, understand requirements, translate requirements to analytical problems, and provide effective data analytic solutions. The candidate should be able to leverage both data in many formats to create analytical solutions using various different tools and/or methods

Responsibilities

Meets and collaborates with business users on requirements, objectives and metrics
Transform real-world clinical data into actionable insights using robust analytical methods and compelling data visualizations in formats that are meaningful and engaging
Perform exploratory data analysis, generates and tests working hypotheses, and uncovers noteworthy trends and relationship
Models and frames clinical/business scenarios that are meaningful and which impact on critical clinical/business processes and/or decisions
Independently manages multiple medium or single institution scale projects of mild to moderate complexity through the entire project life cycle. Identifies, translates and applies best practices on assigned projects
Be able Communicate insights to key stakeholders, which include technical and non-technical audiences. Must be able to understand, interpret and convey analytic and technical information to others
Develops metrics and scorecards. Creates graphics for data visualization and information display

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (master’s or higher preferred) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, operations research or a quantitative-related field.
3 years’ experience working with large, complex data systems to aggregate, organize, and prepare data for use in clinical/business analysis
3 years’ experience using relevant software packages for statistical analyses and visualization (SQL, R, Python, Tableau/ Power BI)
Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare data. Be a subject matter expert with hands-on experience in defining, validating and implementing clinical measures
