The Clinical Therapist provides clinically competent assessment and psychotherapy in an outpatient behavioral health department and will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide treatment as per hospital/department policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Social Worker MSW at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

1. Provides clinically competent psychiatric assessment to determine appropriate level of care and diagnosis.
2. Provides individual, group and family psychotherapy to patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
3. Documentation is completed in an electronic record in an accurate and timely manner as per department/hospital policies.
4. Meets productivity standards and manages an active caseload with some case management responsibilities.
5. Able to work collaboratively with other team members.
6. Maintains and provides knowledge of current issues in the field and shares information with other team members.
7. Actively participates in performance improvement projects.
8. Demonstrates clinical competency in accordance with New Jersey's licensure requirements.
9. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
10. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

1. Outpatient Behavioral Health Experience.
2. Experience with substance use treatment.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

1. NJ Licensed Social Worker or Professional Counselor License.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

1. Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
