Responsibilities
Position Summary A (Acute Care RCP): Responsibilities include the assessment, education and acute and chronic care of patients with cardiopulmonary diseases. Core responsibilities include patient assessment and education, medication delivery, oxygen therapy, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis and ventilator management of patients of all ages. Provides quality respiratory care through the application of the patient care process and according to the established standards and duties of Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioners in the State of New Jersey. Position Summary B (Off Site RCP performing Pulmonary Function Testing): Responsibilities include the assessment, education and acute and chronic care of patients with cardio-pulmonary diseases. Core responsibilities include patient assessment and education, medication delivery, oxygen therapy,
arterial blood gas sampling and analysis and adult pulmonary function testing. Provides quality respiratory care through the application of the patient care process and according to the established standards and duties of Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioners in the State of New Jersey.
Qualifications
Work Experience: (A) (Acute Care RCP) None required (B) (Off Site RCP performing Pulmonary Function Testing): Minimum 3 years acute care experience Minimum 3 years PFT testing experience.
Education / Education Specialization: Education (A) (Acute Care RCP) Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Program Education. . Beginning in 2012, the Registered Respiratory Therapist credential was required in order to be considered for employment. (B) (Off Site RCP performing Pulmonary Function Testing):
Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
Please note: All new hires are required to obtain PALS certification within the first 12 months of employment.
Technical / Equipment: 1 year experience using oxygen therapy equipment, medication nebulizers, and mechanical ventilators
Licensure / Certification / Registration - All NJ Licenses must be current.
