The Internal Communications Strategist will support Human Resources and manage the communication strategies for the division to engage, align and inspire Hackensack Meridian Health team members with the networks overall strategic objectives, vision and beliefs. This role functions independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.



A day in the life of the Internal Communications Strategist will include:


1.Develops internal communication strategies and plans for HR initiatives designed to familiarize team members with organizational policies, programs and benefits with an emphasis on driving organizational change, promoting team member engagement and creating a deeper connection to culture.

2.Drafts, review and edits message content, identifies target audiences, and suggests appropriate delivery channels. 3.Proactively leads and develops creative and innovative ways to deliver communications to leaders and team members. 4.Manages, writes, edits and develops communication deliverables. Ensures the overall consistency, branding and tone aligns with network strategies and initiatives.

5.Collects data on the performance of specific communications or campaigns. Develop analytics and metrics to track the effectiveness of internal human resources communications to make the process more effective and efficient. Continually improve processes and delivery vehicles, as appropriate.

6.Develop and maintain content on internal communication channels.

7.Maintains a calendar of human resources events and initiatives. Oversees all efforts to internally promote HR activities, services, and events for team members.

8.Captures and writes about stories related to the team member experience.

9.Continually communicates project status to internal stakeholders through various formal and informal mechanisms. 10.Remain current with existing and emerging communications strategies and tactics, applying them as appropriate. 11.Supports the Director and Vice President of Communications with ad hoc projects as needed.



Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:


1.Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English or other related field.

2.Minimum of 8 years of proven communications or related field experience. Must provide writing samples of various forms and styles of copy.

3.Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written.

4.Ability to build collaborative relationships, influence others and foster teamwork.

5.Work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

6.Perform complex tasks and meet multiple deadlines.

7.Ability to identify and seek needed information and approvals.

8.Ability to maintain high level of professionalism in a corporate environment.

9.Balance a sense of urgency with calm and confident demeanor.

10.A positive and proactive attitude, strong interest/willingness to try new things, to push creatively, and to find innovative solutions for ordinary problems.

11.Thorough understanding of social and digital media and the relationship between internal communications.

12.Strong knowledge of how to maximize the benefits of using web based platforms and social media to connect with team members.


Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

1.Master's degree or equivalent in a related field: Communications, Journalism or English.

2.Experience in a large (>3,000 employee) business, and/or one that is comprised of multiple locations.
