Our team is seeking an Information & Guest Services Representative to act as the first point of contact for patients and their visitors as they enter our facilities. In this role, you will welcoming guests, respond to requests for visitor passes, provid directions to Medical Center services, answer questions about Medical Center services and policies. This role plays a vital role in setting the tone for a patient's visit at Hackensack Meridian Health and focuses on creating a positive patient experience. 


As an Information & Guest Services Representative at Hackensack Meridian Health you will:

  • Welcome all guests to the Medical Center by proactively greeting them in a courteous fashion utilizing approachable non-verbal communication. 
  • Remain visible at the information desk with a personal appearance that conveys confidence and professionalism while adhering to the department attire standards. 
  • Respond to requests for directions in an accurate and precise manner. Escort patients to designated areas as needed.
  • Distribute appropriate visitor passes to guests in accordance with the established visitor policy of the patient care area involved.
  • Collaborate with Environmental Services and Plant Operations on service requests necessary to maintain the lobby, immediate external entrance of lobbies, and public bathrooms.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and maintain close working relationships with all departments within the Medical Center in order to provide the best possible service to our guests. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of information in accordance with Medical Center polices and procedures
  • Completes incident report for any event not consistent with the routine operations of the facility (event may include patient, visitor or volunteer). 


Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Typing ability
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in front desk / reception position OR hospitality / customer service experience

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 

  • Computer training.
  • Bi-lingual; Spanish preferred.
