Reporting to the Vice President, Talent Selection, the Director, Talent Selection - Hospitality will lead and manage a team of talent acquisition professionals across the network responsible for hiring for acute care facilities driving execution against established performance standards. They will be tasked with developing and operationalizing talent acquisition strategies through the leadership of the various recruitment, talent sourcing and onboarding coordination teams. Through interaction with senior leadership, they will ensure alignment of the recruitment and metrics strategy with the network business strategy. The Director, Talent Selection - Hospitality will partner with the key stakeholders to understand business and talent priorities and strategize recruitment activities. He/She will work closely with the Vice President of Talent Selection, Human Resource Operations and leadership to forecast talent needs and develop a pipeline of qualified talent. The Director, Talent Selection - Hospitality will help to improve transparency by implementing effective analytics and reporting practices for the function in concert with HRIS leadership


  • Work closely with HR and business unit leaders to develop and measure the effectiveness of talent acquisition strategies, forecasting assumptions and service delivery; recommend innovative and practical solutions to fill positions.
  • Develop, lead and manage strategic sourcing initiatives that will attract and acquire high quality candidates and build a pipeline for future skill sets and competencies including but not limited to: third party relationships such as contingency and search agencies, and niche websites, our advertising agency, college/universities, user associations, etc. to ensure a continuous supply of highly qualified candidates for the network on a cost effective basis
  • Continually research, evaluate and obtain competitive intelligence of the external marketplace by benchmarking, through interactions with peer companies and vendor presentations in order to maintain an ongoing awareness of applicable competitive practices.
  • Partner with TA Operations to insure effective onboarding policies, programs, procedures and processes that will meet their unique client needs; ensure compliance by new hires and team members for internal mobility; measure, evaluate and track effectiveness of process keeping in mind process scalability as aligned with HMH growth
  • In collaboration with the Director of Operations, (1) establish metrics and dashboards and provide direction and leadership to attain team goals (2) provide direction and insight into network Talent Acquisition policies and operational procedures and (3) ensure that HR systems, implementations and vendor relationships are aligned with business needs and optimized to deliver streamlined and efficient Talent Acquisition processes
  • Serve as an internal consultant and subject matter expert on talent acquisition processes to ensure clarity and effectiveness; leverage best practice methods and process improvements where applicable; monitor the effectiveness of the recruiting processes/teams to support internal and external customer needs; implement necessary process or system modifications to ensure the ongoing responsiveness of the team.
  • Work closely with HR team members to align talent management strategies and activity with operating priorities aligned with other HR processes including compensation, benefits, labor relations, development and communication.
  • Partner with business leaders to gather input and clarify expectations on the process, roles, and responsibilities along with providing adequate training and emphasis on exploring ways to enhance the overall function's effectiveness, efficiency and ability to attract and capture talent.
  • Utilize internal and external sources to develop competitive intelligence (sourcing methods, hiring practices, etc.); share intelligence with business partners and leverage that information to develop candidate pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain team scorecards to communicate recruiting success and regularly report out on recruiting stats against company hiring needs.
  • Promote the HMH employment value proposition to key internal and external stakeholders.



Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Recruitment leadership role.
  • Proven and progressive recruiting team leadership experience is required.
  • Prior experience leading talent acquisition and onboarding and orientation initiatives at an enterprise level is required as well as proven success in recruitment of critical and high-priority roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with HR subject matter teams such as HR Operations, Learning & Development, Benefits, Compensation, etc. is required.
  • Exceptional client relationship skills and demonstrated experience developing consultative relationships with top executive leaders is required.
  • Strong project management/organizational skills with strong attention to detail, people, systems and processes is required.
  • Demonstrated command of all steps in the full life cycle of recruiting and prior experience with recruiting process improvement initiatives are both required.
  • A strong understanding of current employment regulations and compliance issues is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a fluid, fast-paced environment is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of ATS platforms is required.
  • A strong understanding of current employment regulations and compliance issues is required.


Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Master's level degree is preferred.
  • Professional experience in both the agency and corporate settings is strongly preferred.
