Overview

The Director of Process Improvement will serve as the leader responsible for business performance excellence. Will help Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) hospital and Network leaders identify areas of improvements in efficiency and productivity. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily activities of performance improvement staff, training and mentoring others throughout the organization in Lean continuous improvement philosophy, and leading activities that provide more efficient and streamlined workflow at all levels in the healthcare system environment. The role encompasses project management, consultation, facilitation, training and execution of strategic operational initiatives across the Network.

Responsibilities

1. Ensures Lean methodology and continuous improvement are delivered across the Network. 2. Identifies the appropriate KPIs for each project; tracks progress towards goals. 3. Manages resource structure and resource deployment. 4. Develops project selection and program standards. 5. Review process improvement project plans for cohesiveness, engaging the input of the PI Specialist and others to define tasks and estimate the duration of all related activities. 6. Develops training and coaching strategies to transfer core competencies throughout the system. 7. Creates a meaningful and succinct communication plan regarding project progress & completion. 8. Responsible to drive the overall effectiveness and productivity of the Integration Office through oversight of project progression. 9. Employ change management skills and provide guidance as needed to the Process Improvement Specialists in meeting the expectations of end-users and management. 10. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. 11. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or other relevant area of study. 2. Minimum of 10 or more years of process improvement experience. 3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 4. Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills. 5. Demonstrate ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment, in an atmosphere of multiple project, shifting priorities and deadline pressures. 6. Demonstrated ability to train and build relationships. 7. Strong oral communication skills with proven ability to manager priorities in a fast-paced environment. 8. Strong presentation skills. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 1. Master's level degree. Licenses and Certifications Required: Licenses and Certifications Preferred: 1. Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
