Overview

The Dir, HMH Environmental Services (EVS) will provide strong and effective leadership and professional expertise in all EVS operating disciplines in areas of logistics, performance standards and training across HMH. Partners with on-property leaders and third-party providers in developing compelling and on-trend dining services designed to enhance the customer experience. This includes providing leadership and strategic direction for all new concept development, process optimization, technology innovation, supply chain management, training and standards control.

Responsibilities

  • Participates with senior leadership in the creation and execution of innovative EVS initiatives that support HMH patient experience objectives and continue to position HMH as the provider of choice. 
  • Serve as the team's subject matter expert on and leader for evolving EVS at work programs promoting user health and well-being. 
  • Contributes to short- and long-term strategies of the organization by ensuring business objectives are effectively cascaded and translated into operational best practice. 
  • Lead the development of innovative, highly competent EVS operations that is in line with those strategies. 
  • Establish and monitor meaningful metrics to track operational and leadership effectiveness as well as the impact of programmatic efforts. 
  • Train, lead and grow a strong EVS leadership that is innovative, driven and hospitality minded. Provide one-on-one coaching to leadership to help resolve problems, strengthen their leadership skills and solidify cultural values. 
  • Collaborate in establishing high quality standards by setting clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities for individuals throughout the EVS function. 8. Actively engage in product and service quality assurance of standards. Observe service delivery and rendering hospitality to ensure memorable experiences. 
  • Continuously assess logistical opportunities along the entire supply chain of products. 
  •  Actively participates and monitors the budget, labor and other financial measures of the EVS department. 
  • Analyze insource vs. outsource opportunities relative to cost, quality and staffing resources. 
  • Drive organization-wide EVS best practice & consistency through; a) alignment with hospitals finance team to provide network leadership in creating a uniform system of accounts and setting applicable KPI's for EVS within the network of hospitals, b) liaison with Human Resources in recruitment and onboarding strategies to proactively address an increasingly more competitive employment landscape for EVS positions. 
  • Liaise and support current and future sustainability initiatives in sourcing green chemicals, products and optimizing waste management.
  •  Implement and oversee processes to ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable national, state and municipal employee relations regulations. 
  • Manages clear and effective information flow to senior leadership and all other internal stakeholders. 

 

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business or related field. 2. Minimum 10 years of leadership experience with P&L responsibility in healthcare and/or hospitality establishments. 3. Excellent knowledge of housekeeping and/or EVS operations. 4. Excellent knowledge of EVS safety and thorough understanding of HACCP throughout supply chains. 5. Up to date on industry trends and best practices. 6. Customer/patient-centric and hospitality-minded. 7. Strong problem solving and excellent analytical skills. 8. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 9. Ability to deal well with competing priorities and managing time. 10. Proven experience in dealing with high-level executives and a demonstrated ability to counsel senior management. 11. Experience with sourcing and managing third party providers. 12. Experience with navigating complex multi-disciplinary integrated organizations. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 1. Master's degree in a related field.
