Overview

The Nurse Practitioner at Shore Rehabilitation Institute is an integral member of the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Medical Staff of Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. The person in this position works in collaboration with the Rehabilitation Physicians (Physiatrists) in an active program to deliver quality patient care in the 40-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital. The person in this position serves as the first line of introduction for patients into the rehabilitation facility and completes the admission initial evaluations. The position’s practice is characterized by comprehensive health assessments and management of acute complex patients’ health problems and their disabling conditions. The Nurse Practitioner provides leadership and support to the overall area of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, educates and guides Shore Rehabilitation Institute staff, and assists the primary rehabilitation medical teams in providing outstanding patient care.

A joint partnership between Hackensack Meridian Health and JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, Shore Rehabilitation Institute (SRI) is a 40-bed, acute rehabilitation facility that offers a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services.

Located adjacent to Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ, SRI is fully accredited by the Joint Commission as an acute rehabilitation hospital, providing a broad spectrum of rehabilitation services.

This multi-disciplinary team provides a full continuum of rehabilitative care while individualizing treatment plans based on each patient’s unique needs. Responsibilities

Prefer 3pm-11pm shift 5 days a week, full-time preferred, but part-time also available and hours can be slightly adjusted.

 

Completes comprehensive initial evaluations and medical assessments of new inpatients as they enter the acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital.  Provides medication management and management of therapy services.  Prescribes medications, orders and interprets laboratory tests and diagnostic studies as needed. Devises interdisciplinary plan of care to include physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy if appropriate, in conjunction with collaborating physiatrists. 

 

 

Qualifications

Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse, Licensed in the state of NJ, with a firm, solid medical knowledge background.
