Our Rehabilitation facilities offer a comprehensive variety of programs and services to help you regain quality of life after disability due to a disease or injury.  Riverview Medical Center is the only CARF accredited facility in Monmouth County.  We offer a very collaborative interdisciplinary team approach.  Riverview Medical Center has specialty areas, such as: Joint and Spine Center, Stroke Unit, and Neurology programs.  We focus on patient outcomes and are not volume driven.  We offer variety/flexibility of shifts.  Monday through Friday, shifts vary between 7 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.  On the weekends there is a modified schedule.  They also offer a rotating weekend and holiday schedule.  It is a family atmosphere, with a lot of collaboration between different Therapists, and other team members.  You get to work with a great team, in a fast paced environment.  There is also a lot of growth opportunities available throughout our network.  Physical Therapists at Riverview Medical Center always celebrate our beliefs - Compassionate, Creative, Courageous, andCollaborative.  Our team is flexible, friendly, dependable, respectful, and positive. 

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Physical Therapist at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Interviewing patient and evaluating his/her condition
  • Preparing written documentation such as Progress Notes, Reassessments and Discharge Summaries
  • Developing an individualized program of treatment focused on identified patient needs
  • Evaluates, plans and implements a goal oriented Physical Therapy treatment program that focuses on restoring function and preventing further disability as a result of trauma, disease, amputation, congenital defects, surgery and other debilitating illnesses
  • S/he provides an optimum environment for functional goal achievement, and utilizes interdisciplinary collaboration and available resources to provide care
  • Gathers all information necessary to properly evaluate the patient's needs, including testing and consultations with other health care professionals, as appropriate.
  • Incorporates evaluative findings in establishing time-oriented functional and measurable short and long-term goals, while considering both the patien's and caregivers goals in the formulation of the plan of care
  • Develops a rapport and mutual respect with the patient/caregiver, as well as team members, to foster an optimum environment in support of goal achievement.
  • Provides and documents education to patients/caregivers based upon identified learning needs in an understandable manner

Qualifications

  • Current New Jersey Physical Therapy License is required
  • CPR Certification is required, or must be obtained before starting with us
  • Ability to navigate computer systems, be flexible/adaptable, and have a positive attitude
  • Graduated from an APTA accredited program or equivalent.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy is preferred.
  • The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers, an exceptional focus on teamwork, and the ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus are all required.
  • Availability for weekday, weekend and Holiday rotation is required.
