Overview

The Supervising Child / Adolsecent Psychologist provides mental health screenings of foster care children for the Comprehensive Health
evaluation for Children (CHEC) program for the Division of Child Permanency and Protection
(DCP&P). Provides services which may include assessment development of treatment
recommendations, report writing and provision of consultation to relevant stakeholders in the
child’s life.

The Comprehensive Health Evaluation for Children (CHEC) program identifies the physical, developmental and mental health treatment needs for children entering out-of-home placements. CHEC is a partnership between the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (CP&P) and Medicaid.

4 days per week (flexible) for Child Health Evaluation program through DCPP for foster children

Location: Medical Arts Building across from Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Responsibilities

Business Operations: Maintains awareness of the sources of reimbursements for the service and follows through to ensure that all requirements are met.


Case Disposition/Discharge Planning: Accurately and timely assesses readiness for discharge
or transfer. Utilizes SBAR when appropriate. Makes appropriate judgements, utilizing available resources in collaborative approach, demonstrates competence per department requirements.


Case Management: Provides clinically competent case management services to clients as
indeed.


Client Satisfaction: Promotes a positive client experience, participates in service recovery and
encourages client feedback.


Clinical Supervision: Provides clinical supervision to psychology interns and others as assigned.


Documentation: Discharge transfer plan is completed in an accurate and timely procedure
within program policies and procedures. Weekly summaries are completed in an accurate and
time procedure within program policies and procedures. Collateral contacts are completed in an accurate and timely procedure within program policies and procedures. Progress notes are
completed in an accurate and timely procedure within program and policies procedures.
Treatment plan review is completed in an accurate and timely procedure within policies and
procedures. Treatment plan is completed in an accurate and timely procedure within program and policies and procedures.


Other: Completes other duties as assigned.


Performance Improvement: Demonstrates a clear understanding of performance improvement activities within the department. Actively participates in the Performance Improvement Process.


Professional Enhancement: Maintains and provides knowledge of current issues in the field.
Shares information from conferences,articles, and training with others.


Clinical Competencies: Demonstrates cynical competency in the provision of group clinical
treatments. Demonstrates clinical competency in the provision of individual clinical treatments. Demonstrates clinical competency in the provision of family clinical treatments.


Psychological Assessments/Consults: Completes psychological assessments and consults in a
timely manner and demonstrates clinical competence.


Psychology Internship Program Coordination: Assists in the coordination of internship
programs to maintain APA accreditation standards.


Treatment Planning: Treatment plan is measurable, individualized, and incorporates client
involvement.


Performance Improvement: Demonstrates a clear undering of performance improvement
activities within the department. Actively participates in the Performance Improvement Process.

Qualifications
