The Secretary Ii Radiation Therapy provides assistance and guidance to manager/staff in need of general department information; provides clerical and telephone support to department and performs computer input of all Radiation Oncology patient billing data.


  • Computer System: Able to utilize the computer system fully and efficiently with little supervision.  Consistently demonstrates the ability to properly use these systems including the necessity for security of these systems i.e. always signing off after each use.
  • General Work Duties: Provides clerical support as needed, oversees reception and scheduling area, makes copies, files and pulls charts. Regularly seeks new information in order to help in additional areas of Radiation Therapy department.
  • Maintains Supplies: Maintains all office supplies and equipment, including tracking inventory and ordering supplies. Supplies are ordered in a timely manner, work area is neat and clean and proper inventories are met.
  • Patient Billing Systems: Medical data is processed and analyzed accurately and in a timely manner.  Appropriate codes are used and complete information is input. Records and maintains all statistical information for budgetary purposes and state reporting
  • Phone Etiquette: Phone is answered in a courteous manner.  Accurate and complete phone messages are taken.  Provides phone support, relays messages to the appropriate party.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.


Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Administrative experience in an Oncology setting is preferred
  • EPIC experience preferred
  • Radiation Oncology EMR ARIA a plus
