Driver Per Diem

Drivers/Couriers get a chance to drive new vans/cars that are all blue tooth accessible. You would not be in an office environment all day along. You will be on the road majority of the day, so you have the freedom to listen to the radio, or a pod-cast, or something else. When you are not on the road, you get the chance to interact with team members across the network. This a fast pace environment/position. On average, you move over 30 thousand pieces a month. The company gives you a gas card, to easily fill up your tank. You are also able to take your car/van for a car wash or oil changes at specific locations.
This is a family type atmosphere. Compassion is huge, since you can be transporting/carrying around blood samples, or other lab specimens. Drivers/Couriers across our network always celebrate our beliefs- Compassionate, Creative, Courageous and Collaborative. There is a lot of flexibility/freedom with this position. Majority of shifts start at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. However, you can also start at other sites - Ocean Medical Center, Southern Ocean Medical Center, or Riverview Medical Center. You could be on the same route for a while. But, you can be driving anywhere from Northern NJ to Southern NJ. This is a 24/7 operations, wish Day/Eve/Night shifts available. There is a rotating weekned and holiday schedule.
A day in the life of a Driver at Hackensack Meridian includes:
- Delivery and pickup of lab specimens, mail, supplies and other items throughout all Hackensack Meridian health locations.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Good communication and Customer Service skills required.
- Valid NJ Drivers license and clean driving record for 3 years required
- Must be able to lift, bend and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be flexible with working various days including alternating shifts, weekends and holidays.
