The Administrative Coordinator, Pediatric Behavioral Health Services coordinates the administrative functions of Behavioral Health pediatric departments; responsibility includes serving as patient accounts liaison, coordination of referrals to Behavioral Health program(s), obtaining/maintaining data and reports related to State and regulatory agencies, as well as information necessary for planning and decision support. Supports other areas of Behavioral Health and Psychiatry as needed.


  • Coordinates workflow and triages referrals to Behavioral Health/Psychiatry programs to ensure seamless process for the patients/family (both for hospital based and medical group practices)
  • Works with Clinical Program Manager and Medical Group Practice Manager on access and scheduling issues.
  • Prepares data necessary for monthly reports including status/outcome of referrals, show-rates, caseloads, productivity, etc.
  • Along with Business Office Coordinator, reviews/researches all patient account denials and responds in a timely manner with resolution.
  • Works closely with Business Office Coordinator and Manager of Physician Contracting and Credentialing to ensure providers are appropriately paneled.
  • Supports the front office functions and covers as necessary.
  • Supports the delivery of Behavioral Health services to the organization. Participates in both routine functions as well as activities, projects and initiatives as defined by Behavioral Health management. Includes maintaining knowledge necessary to answer routine inquiries with respect to Behavioral HEalth services.
  •  Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
  • Regular contact with Behavioral Health/Psychiatry personnel, patients and families. Collaborative contact with various HMH departments.


Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years experience, preferably in Behavioral Health environment.
  • Knowledge of computer software applications, including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.
