Overview

The Medication Cart Technician is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and repairing medication carts used by the pharmacy to provide pharmacy services to the skilled nursing and assisted living facilities that the pharmacy services. The position will also assist the pharmacy with general maintenance tasks in the pharmacy and pharmacy warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Work to be completed in accordance with established procedures and as directed by supervisor, including the Executive Director, Assistant Director, and Pharmacy Manager.
  • Assist in setting up medication carts to be delivered to new customers for the start of service.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the medication carts that are out in the field (at the nursing facility).
  • Responds to and repairs maintenance requests on the medication carts in the field.
  • Maintains repair logs and medication cart list for needed maintenance.
  • Checks water temperature, fire/smoke/CO alarms, and safety/exit lighting in the pharmacy department.
  • Checks and maintains safety equipment and monitors/logs generator testing.
  • Perform building repairs, as required in an efficient and timely manner. Notifies supervisor concerning repair status, incomplete repairs, or need for further intervention beyond the Team Member¿s scope.
  • Assists with general tasks around the pharmacy that may come up from time-to-time (i.e., installing a shelf, building a rolling cart, etc.). 10. All other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Safety oriented.
  • Must be able to operate and use all equipment and supplies in a safe and efficient manner consistent with their intended purpose so that all equipment, carts, and property are not damaged.
  • Must use good judgment in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Must be able to travel routinely from the pharmacy location to the nursing facilities that we services.
  • Prior experience with repairing medication carts.
  • Skilled mechanically.
